Dear Friends and Family-
On January 13th, I will embark on what will no doubt be one of the single
most difficult undertakings of my life: I will attempt to scale Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa. ”Kili” is the highest peak in
Africa standing at 19,340 feet.
As challenging as this trip might be for me, it pales in comparison to the life of a
child who is facing a life-threatening medical condition, and so, I have decided to dedicate my climb to the children served
by the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Hudson Valley. The mission of the foundation is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening
medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
As 2007 draws to a close, I hope you will consider making a gift in any amount to the
Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Hudson Valley. Your gift will ensure that children
throughout the region will continue to receive wishes. The average cost of a wish is $7,500 and the chapter is currently working
on over 130 wishes. My hope, with your help, is to raise enough money to grant two wishes. Neva
and I plan to match dollar-for-dollar every dollar raised.
Behind every child's wish, there exists a special individual, corporation, student organization or foundation that
makes it possible. In fact, every unforgettable wish the foundation grants is funded by private contributions. Any gift, large
or small, will impact a family and create hope, strength and joy during a time when a family needs it
most. Please send your tax deductible contribution to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of the Hudson Valley at: The
Wish House, 832 South Broadway, Tarrytown, New York
10591. Make sure to note on your check that this is in support of my
climb, so I will know how much to write my check for! For more information about the foundation, please visit www.hudson.wish.org. Thank you and best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday and New Year.
Sincerely,
Howard Goldstein
